How should a telephone customer correct their directory listing?

At our last place of residence, we changed from land line telephone service to voice-over-internet service, keeping the same telephone number. We have since moved to a new place, simply transferring our new service and number with us. However, telephone directories still have us listed at our older house. Looking on-line, it still says that we are a land line with the old company even though we successfully transferred our number to the VoIP service, who has the correct address for us at least in terms of billing, and have not been a customer with the older service for some time now. What steps can we take to correct our directory listing so that at least we are no longer listed as being at the old place? Thanks in advance. Aliz, that's a good suggestion. I'll have to try that. However, it's been a year-and-a-half since our move, so it's been off because of that. I suppose that I should have noted that in the question. eyespy, I appreciate the suggestion, but I'm not concerned about an unlisted number. If anything, the old address would throw off anyone stalking us. :-) I only stated it that way so that they would at least clear the old address, but I'm perfectly content if the correct address was available in case the PCH prize crew shows up. :-)

  1. Call customer service and find out what you have to do to correct it. They may be able to fix it then. If you moved around the time the book went press than the information they had was correct at that time.
  2. -now in the future you might want to specify to the telephone company that you wish the new number to be non published and remain private, they normally charge you a small monthly fee, but in your case it's worth it,. good luck,..,hope this helpes,.
  3. contact BT customer service and ask if your name can be removed from the next directory print as you no longer use land lines.
