Surely this is racist.? http://ukasianbusinessdirectory.com/ This is a web directory, kind of like the online yelloe pages, but it is for asians ONLY. Advertising Asian owned businesses to Asian people. Now you may think this is fair enough, but surely if we are all meant to be equal, shouldn't I (if I wanted to) be able to set up a UK-WHITE-BUSINESS DIRECTORY advertising white owned businesses to and for white people..... sounds racist now doesn't it. How can equality work without a level playing field? OK Tom R: Then by your own logic a Whites only group would be justified..........surely that's racist in this new socialist mess we're living in??? nutty1nutty: Yes but both of those directories allow any business that are based in Britain whether they be White, Asian or of any other denomination, so before you start telling me of my ignorance and that i should do my research maybe you should do you own first.
Calling a foreign operator? I live in the UK. basically I have a mate who lives in Melbourne, Australia. I have their address, but not their phone number, and they are not listed in white pages. anywho, I need to connect to the australian directory assistance, (which i think is 1223) and ask for their phone number. can anyone help me out as to what number i should dial to connect to the directory assistance? *i looked in the australian telephone book. they are not listed. *this is a surpsise birthday call
I have an 0800 number on my phone and cannot remember who it belongs to. How can I find out? I have tried on-line using White Pages, but they seem to only cater for American numbers. I need to find a UK based number. I've had a look at reverse directories, but no joy there. There are companies that charge, and claim to be able to find the information, but I don't really want to pay. Anybody know a way of finding out? Tried putting number into search engine - no joy. As to calling it, the reason I don't want to do that is my mobile phone provider charges an arm and a leg to contact freephone numbers, I don't have a landline, and the phonebox at the end of the street never works.
Economic recovery - it is only possible if we? How much evidence is needed to persuade governments they have got it wrong? 2009, and recession is again causing many businesses to close. The future is uncertain. "Spend! Spend! Spend!" That is the only way out of recession, we are told by government, who want to keep car-based economies fuelled. "Buy cars, white goods!" But car sales are down - in the UK, car dealerships are starting to go out of business. Perhaps one of the reasons for that is that the public realise the world's population cannot carry on consuming limited resources, and pushing more and more pollutants into the atmosphere? The vital question: Is economic recovery going to happen? The answer: As things are now, no, the recession will get worse and worse. We will come to understand what happens when you enter a black hole, unfortunately. Why is that the case? Is that just my opinion? The reason seems obvious to me. I have spent 20 years plus rsearching this (independently). I am making an educated guess. I know what every country in the world needs for economic recovery. And I know none of them have got "it" made. Before you click away from this page - let me ask you something. What if I'm not a nutter? Quote: Gordon Brown (when Shadow Chancellor for the Labour Party) said: "We have built everything there is to build. Are we lazy? No, but we're falling behind. Our future lies in our skills. The skill revolution is the key to our survival. Yes, there is an alternative - a policy for growth... a new economic policy where everyone should have the chance to improve themselves. We'll work best when we're all working together" (18/3/1993). Did you spot the big error made by Gordon Brown? No? Here's what he said again: "We have built everything there is to build..." Er, no. That's not true. He was mistaken. Hugely. That oversight helped put us where we are i.e. with no products to meet future needs. For example: Water-tight housings, abundant clean, safe energy, and modern transport doing away with combustion... An entire new product range is needed - to modernise, regenerate, sustain... a growing population... facing increasing flooding... the adverse affects of impending climate change. But the world is hoping the new President of the USA will solve all their problems! A change of administration... Wrong! How can Obama magic change, if he is as unaware of the possibilities as Gordon Brown is? So people, all I can do is point you in the direction where you will find the answer - all the clues you need so that you too will know precisely what "it" actually is. I hope you and many others read all about "it." And do "it." If and when that happens, only then will we be heading for sustainable economic recovery.
